Sanctity of Life - Motives of the Heart Can we be guilty of murder of the heart? Life. Is precious. Human life is sacred.  Let's review by going back to the Bible, book of Exodus chapter 20, verse 13. “Do not commit murder.” This command is one of the Ten Commandments given to Moses and the Israelites/God's people. The one true God of the Bible gave these commandments to demonstrate the goodness and grace of God and the reality of sin on earth. We, humans, are sinful (against God) by nature since the betrayal of the first human Adam. These commandments are also called the Law. Please review part 1 and 2 of this series for a deeper look at this verse. I discussed in part 1 how this commandment applies to abortion, murder of the preborn. The Sanctity of Human Life part 2 Can we be Pro Life and Pro War and Pro Death Penalty? We will go back to the Bible, book of Exodus chapter 20. The Ten Commandments, the moral law of the Bible, are good standards for Christians and all humanity.  T he spirit of the Ten Commandments should be displayed in the lives of God's people.  However, if you want to get in trouble in our American culture, all you have to do is put the Ten Commandments up at your workplace, or in your classroom, or at the courthouse.... And someone will eventually ask you take them down. Why? What is the big deal? The truth is, almost all of these commandments cause controversy in a culture that rejects God and absolute truth. The truth is the sixth commandment is about the only commandment everyone still seems to agree with. It is so contrary to the law of nature that every culture has some sort of law against it.
